This White-fronted Parrot (eBird description) is found only in Central America and Mexico and is just one of the 13 different species of parrots/parakeets that I have photos of and I think the reason I chose him rather than one of the other colorful parrots is the way he looks back at me as if to ask “What are you doing?” 🙂 See other shots in my White-fronted Parrot Gallery from the only location I’ve seen him in Costa Rica, the Hacienda Guachipelin Lodge and read more in The Backstory below . . .
The Backstory
My one trip to Rincon de la Vieja National Park and the Hacienda Guachipelin (hotel site) was special in many ways including the shots of this “lifer” bird for me at the time. It was one of 5 lifers on this trip! 🙂 This wonderful older hotel has many rooms scattered over their grounds. In front of my room was one of their gigantic old trees and one afternoon I found this parrot in the tree. I liked this particular shot because of the “attitude” he seems to have on his face looking back at me. 🙂

Costa Rica awarded as 3rd ‘Most Desirable Country’ for tourism
Once again Costa Rica is recognized for being one of the most desirable places in the world to travel, this time by Wanderlust Travel Magazine, a British organization reported in this Tico Times Article.
Your organization of photos is amazing and I envy your skill at finding things from years back. The photo of the parrot looking back could be entitled, “What folder are you going to put me in, Mr. Doggett?”
