. . . which is not an exact match to any of the online baby iguanas or baby basilisks, thus I’m not positive it is the correct ID. During a morning garden walk he was crawling through the ground cover plants, partly hidden. I’m always frustrated when I can’t make an exact identification, but that is the way nature is! 🙂 Here’s two shots and you decide . . .
See my Lizards folder of galleries for all the different kinds of lizards I have photographed and identified (20+). And the many photos I have in the Emerald Basilisk GALLERY, which is where I’m putting this one for now, and believe I’m correct, though not 100% sure. 🙂 And there’s an Unidentified Gallery of 15+! 🙂
¡Pura Vida!
Emerald Swift lizard maybe?
Thanks Steve! And that is another good Central American lizard close to this size. But they are usually very “spiny” which mine is not and also are more yellowish with big blue patches, which mine does not. I think for now I will stick with Juvenile Green (Emerald) Basilisk on this one. Maybe I’ll get another photo when he’s an adult and then the ID is more obvious! 🙂 I’ll let you know if I change my mind! 🙂
He is so cute!
