White Angled-Sulphur

I’m back to sharing photos from my garden and this particular butterfly has been quite numerous the last few days. And more interesting than some of the many other Whites that I’m getting now. Here’s two shots from this week and you can see more in my White Angled-Sulphur Gallery. The scientific name is Anteos clorinde and they are residents from Argentina up to Mexico, putting Costa rica near the center. Here’s two shots . . .

Report on My Covid Experience

It was sort of like two weeks of the worst cold or flu I’ve ever had. I had to go to my private doctor for relief that the public clinic was not giving me, as they were focused on Dengue Fever and when they finally eliminated that, I was told that it was some kind of flu and to drink lots of fluids and rest. Dr. Candy gave me 5 different prescriptions with the fever going away quickly, though I’m still dealing with some congestion and coughing. I took my last antibiotic pill this morning and hope it killed all the infection. And feeling so much better than a week ago! Wednesday I was free to go out in public without contaminating others, but I’m still wearing a mask for a few more days, as a personal precaution and courtesy to others.

¡Pura Vida!

    1. 🙂 Yeah! That would have been fun! She has been my local private GP since my first week here when I had bronchitis. Her full name is Dra. Candy Midence Noguera. So you can see why most expats call here Doctor Candy! But in Spanish it is Doctora or Dra. Candy with most words being masculine or feminine. 🙂

Because of the expense of my cancer treatment in 2021 with private doctors, I have moved all of my specialists over to the public healthcare system with many of them in San Jose (hour+ away). I still have a GP here in the public clinic, Dr. Zuniga who is good, but I was told to go to the emergency room for this latest sickness and that was a mistake, I should have scheduled Zuniga. ER focused on Dengue (which is the newest big sickness here) and after two days proved that I did not have Dengue, telling me to go home and rest with lots of liquids. So I spent the money with my private doc, lab test, and commercial pharmacy and got quick results (at a price). 🙂

I’m pretty much well now, just the sniffles and some coughing. If not gone by Monday, I’ll go back to Dra. Candy.
