You ask me why I dwell in the green mountain;
I smile and make no reply for my heart is free of care.
As the peach-blossom flows downstream and is gone into the unknown,
I have a world apart that is not among men.

That is sort of my response to the U.S. election and what has been going on there for many years now. And as I finish my life retired in Costa Rica, I will continue, as long as able, to photograph and write about birds, butterflies and flowers! 🙂
The photo is of the green hills of Atenas, Costa Rica as seen from my terrace at breakfast.
¡Pura Vida!
A beautiful commentary. Our disgust with what is happening up north only fortifies our good decision we made to live on “the green mountain”.
We saw a new bird yesterday ,a black cowled oriole. Amazingly beautiful.
Yes, the Black-cowled Oriole is a handsome bird! and in a few days you’ll see a blog post photo of two Keel-billed Toucans I saw in a tree with a Chachalaca. Never seen those two together before!
Excellent Response, Charlie! I am trying as best I can as an 83 year old to totally ignore all MEDIA NEWS and only watch entertainment as I have not control over the rest. Love you!
Thanks Reagan! I don’t watch TV news or any TV, but do keep up with world events on an electronic subscription to Washington Post, which I’ve thought about canceling, but don’t like to not know what is happening in the world. Reading about U.S. politics is like my “other mystery book” I read every day. 🙂
I’m always reading on some mystery book like right now the Agent Pendergast Series, just a couple of chapters a day, usually with dinner. Then the newspaper accounts of the U.S. is my morning mystery read. 🙂 After my Bible reading which is always inspiration and sometimes another mystery, like right now in the NT of the adventures of Paul. 🙂
So reading is my entertainment rather than TV which I do not subscribe to now. I do have a subscription to Curiositystream that I stream occasionally on the internet for nature documentaries. But more fun to go outdoors and photograph real nature! 🙂
I too do not watch TV nor much political news! I am so happy to live in the USA and so happy for you that don’t want to and live elsewhere!
Thank you Gordona! And life goes on for all of us!
AMEN!!!
