This one Red Ginger plant has created 6 blooms all together at the top. Not normal! Especially that bulging over-sized bloom! But an interesting phenomenon! 🙂

It’s blooming now! Just not as much of it as some past years. Maybe it is because I haven’t been fertilizing? Or enough water? But anyway it is still a beautiful flower for January & February as a vine on top of my back wall. Here’s 3 shots I made on New Year Day! And here’s a shot of it when it was thicker in another year.

Before I left on my Christmas trip to Uvita, I planted this year’s Poinsettia in my garden to possibly give it a longer life outdoors! As a specially created with light/darkness houseplant it will not continue to grow in the garden but is a nice temporary addition of color! Just one more joy of living in the tropics! 🙂

Well, we had a real sunset tonight, so that will be a separate post a little later. Here’s the representatives of daytime today . . .

Later tonight I will have some sunset photos to share.

The Yellow Bells have started blooming and maybe the Triquitraque will be when I return with two little blooms already. My stone indigenous guard will watch over all while I’m gone! 🙂 It is always a pleasure to return to my own garden, a different pleasure than the adventure of travel. I love both!

There are several African Tulip Trees (Wikipedia Link) in Roca Verde which I have highlighted before with their bright orange flowers, but the one on the hill above me is such a bright spot, it is hard to not keep featuring it! 🙂 Another sign that summer is beginning.

Or maybe just a big cousin? 🙂 I passed this tree walking home from town this morning and it certainly made me think of poinsettias, though you can see that the bloom is a little different from the typical Christmas flower – though similar! 🙂 Online blooms like these were labeled “Wild Poinsettia.” Either way, they are categorized as shrubs or small trees.

Merry Christmas!

Just 4 flowers that I liked on my walk this morning down “Shady Lane.” This flatter walk doesn’t have the vistas of the hill yesterday, but some nice close-ups! 🙂
