My first visit to Costa Rica I was on a birding tour that divided the time between the Osa Peninsula/Corcovado NP and the Cloud Forest area of San Gerardo de Dota, both on the Mid to South Pacific Coast and it is still one favorite region, though I find as much to photograph in both the Alajuela/North-Central area and the Caribbean Slope. They are my three main areas for nature photography with Guanacaste just more difficult to get to and fewer concentrated areas of nature, it seems to me, though I am less experienced there. And that feature photo at top with all the palms was made from my cabin at Playa Cativo near Golfito on Golfo Dulce a Parque Nacional Piedras Blancas.
